Get to Know Me & Welcome!

Hi there and welcome to KLC Living! I am the owner / creator of the blog, Kat Christian-Vaubel and I am unbelievably thankful and humbled that you are here. My husband, Eric, is also pictured alongside out two dogs, Harley and Leia (Harley is creme colored and Leia is red). 

I want you to feel like you know me, so I’ve included some information about me below. including some fun facts!  

   25 years old

   Newly married

   Investment Banker full-time

   Grew up with three older brothers

   My mom is my best friend in the world

   I would love to have as many kiddos as God will give me

In order to show you why this blog and community means so much to me, I want to explain why I decided to start doing this.  

Since I was young, I can remember most, if not all, of the homes I have stepped foot in. I can recall the rooms, furniture and layouts almost perfectly. I can also remember the stone colors, the patterns they were laid in and so many more details. I never really realized this until I became obsessed with interior decor and design in college. I began recalling the pieces that were in my aunt’s house, my grandparent’s house or a childhood neighbor’s house. This became even more relevant when I was in college and wanted so badly to buy a home. I became really interested in the different design styles (traditional, transitional, farmhouse, etc.) and tried to pin down my own style (more to come on this later!). Unfortunately, I was looking for a home during the hottest housing market (after COVID) and saw more than 50 homes before I finally came to own where my husband and I now live. I have spent the last two years renovating and cautiously curating the pieces in our home with a mix of thrifted finds and brand-new items. I can honestly say that I find immense joy in creating beautiful, classic, timeless spaces in our home.   

I’ve documented the renocation and design process over the last two years and invite you to follow along as I add it here to the blog. I will do my best to link the purchases and show you all the before and after shots! I will also take you along for some new renovation projects that we have coming up!
